Window Treatment Designer with Twisted Branch Design Window Treatment Projects Window treatment designers ask several questions when it comes to designing window treatments. It is very important to understand what the client is looking for and when specific questions are asked they really get an understanding of the process and that their desires are being met. Being able to share customer projects is very rewarding. It's very important to me to make sure that the client understands the process of choosing fabric, rods, valances, cornice boards, bedding, upholstery or blinds and shades. Drapery & Pillow Project My client requested to use their own fabric for their window treatments. They also desired to have the fabric railroaded so that the stripe would be horizontal on the draperies. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to help my clients to accomplish what they desire. Draperies are one of the last things you should accomplish when remodeling or redecorating your space. Whether they are the center of attention or not, it is important, as they are the final personality of a room. Cornice Boards & Draperies In this project the client had 3 sliding glass patio doors that looked out over a lake. He desired to have an elegant and functional drapery that brought in the colors and style of his living and dining spaces. Along with the aesthetic he desired for there to be good protection from the sun. Facing the west it often was very hot in the space. The treatments helped control the heat and the glare on the television. The cornice board was desired and added for the aesthetic. Traversing Drapery Cornice Board Traversing & Stationary Draperies with Valance & Motorized Honeycomb Cellular Shade Living Room Before Draperies Palladian Shelf After With this clients project I started in their Living Room. They desired to keep the swags on the 2 smaller windows but update the style and fabric. Also they desired to have a motorized honeycomb cellular shade on their upper specialty shaped window. This was to help block the sun from shining on their television and to help keep the heat out in the summer. The key with the cellular shade was that a Palladian Shelf was needed to mount the shade onto, as there wasn't a horizontal surface to attach it to. On their large picture window they requested a traversing rod with full drapery to help again block out the sun, heat, and for privacy. Swag Drawings Primary Bedroom Stationary Panels & Valance Stationaries The client wanted to also redo the bedroom window treatments. They desired to have a stationary drapery with a valance on 2 windows and a valance on the smaller window. Choosing to match the fabrics in some way. Understanding how I can assist the client in the decision making process is important. Some do not know where to start and others can get overwhelmed by all the options. I am happy to be able to guide you through the process in any way that will make it more enjoyable. Valance Under C0nstruction

Projects Gallery The Project Gallery shows my projects coming to fruition. Each project is unique and a process of learning. All the baby steps over time and then the culmination of that learning in a project. Fundamentals of Design Upcycle Project In this project we needed to use all trash or items laying around. Taking trash to treasure - literally. I desired to make something that had a story. I love Sea Turtles and I wanted to incorporate how the trash in our lakes and oceans effects wildlife. So building a sea turtle out of scrap and attaching it to an old window screen and frame. How the turtle is coming out of trash. First I had to build the turtle. As you can see I used wire hangers to make the initial shape and then built upon that with electrical tape, wire, duct tape, hot glue, and plastic grocery bags to help it all come together. The next thing was to cover it. Using Amazon shipping paper from packages I had I decoupaged to the surface. After it dried then I painted it. I then started adding the items that would become the shell. There are all kinds of objects from straws, broken dishes, bottle caps, egg shells, old jewelry and stones. Once the shell was dry I attached it to the old screen using wire and a lot of hot glue. At that time I had to get the trash around him. You can see all the things that I accumulated from friends and family to help. Often fishing net is wrapped around the flippers and neck and also fishing line. The fishing net I covered his flippers with and the fishing line I incorporated around him. This was the last of the process. I then added hot glue to make it look as realistic as possible to be like dripping water. I painted areas with brown paint within the trash to make it look dirty. I truly enjoyed this project and I hope it truly makes an impact of what we need to do with our Trash. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Protect our waters and wildlife. Introduction to Commercial Design Mundelein Advertising Agency Project In Intro to Commercial Design we had the first opportunity to design a space for a commercial business. Using AutoCad and CET to design a floorspace with all the needs of the business owner. We also included our own business name and business logo we designed The Mood Board was a fun opportunity to seek out what color scheme and style the space would highlight. The plan view gives you a perspective of the whole office space. AutoCAD 3D AutoCAD 2D Reupholstery Vibrant Color under the folds of the fabric. Flower print vinyl was found under the fabric. This antique Slipper Chair was in my sister's room for all of our childhood. My dad got it from my grandparents after they had it at their lake cabin. The chair held many clothes over the years of growing up. I needed a chair to reupholster for my Upholstery class and decided to do this for her. She wanted it to show off the wood legs and it to be a more minimalist style. Since she wanted to remove the skirt on the bottom, I added one button in the middle to give it some character. Starting with the removal of what seemed to be a million tacks and staples I was finally able to get to the bones of the chair. Gradually I pulled off each layer of fabric and fill. You can see the progress as I go. I also sanded down and stained areas of the chair to help clean it up. My sister loved the darker stain with the fabric that I found.
